“Almost…” Doc reached across the table for his medical bag and start digging around in it, sending various small medicals tools cashing to the ground. he should really organize that. “Here you go!” Doc pulled out a small tin with the words Aloe Vera scribbled on the side. “We just need to apply this to your bruised area. You can use it yourself if you want,” Doc turned to Tex. “but you just have to make sure he sues it again later tonight!”

Tex had just stood up, hands on the table, just opening her mouth to tear Church a new one when Doc interrupted her. Her head snapped around. “What, so it’s my responsibility to look after him now?” she asked hotly. Don’t be rude to Doc, she scolded herself. It’s not his fault your ex is an ass. She straightened, looking bitterly at Church. “I’m not going to put up this this. I’m going home. Fire me for all I care.” There never was a sense to arguing with Church. She always lost. Always. Or nearly sent him packing. And it was by some miracle he still stuck around. “He isn’t worth my time anymore.”

She stormed out of the interview room, slamming the door behind her. She stopped for a second, letting her head rest against the door to catch her breath. Swallowing her anger, she slowly headed out of the station.

Seeing Texas walk off in the direction of the exit, the Director stood up from his seat at the table by the one-way mirror.

He walked briskly to the door, preferring not to waste any time, then paused, hit by a pang of uncertainty on whether he should actually do this. Suppressing these emotions, he focused on logic and steeled himself for any tension behind this door.

Opening it with a careful precision, he stared at Church for a brief second, then said, “Good aftuhnoon, Leonahd. Ah trust you’ve been well.”

Just as Church was about to shout a parting shot to Tex’s back- he wasn’t entirely certain what but it would’ve been biting and caustic and smug and probably enough to bring her back at least long enough to punch him -but someone else stands in the doorway instead.  His face goes pale and body tense as he bites out tightly, “No.  Oh hell no.  Not you.  I am not dealing with you.”  And it takes all of Church’s focus to keep the damn accent down.

Tonight had officially, beyond the shadow of a doubt, hit rock bottom.

Frankly Doc was startled at what just happened. Tex had yelled at him which startled him to bits and then the Director had showed up at the door for no real reason sending Church into anger. Bu this was Church we’re talking about here. He decided not to say anything and just pick up the dropped medical supplies from the floor and move to the corner of the room. But that also meant he had no exit out. It was going to be a long night.

Doc sighed and crouched down at Church’s side, pressing lightly on the bruised spot over his ribs. Judging from the winces Church was making nothing was broken, but there was still a lot of pain. There also didn’t seem to be any internal bleeding which was also a good sign. He didn’t want Church to die anytime soon from blood poisoning! “Alright, Church did you get hit anywhere else?” Aloe vera should work for the bruising which means Doc wouldn’t have to get more supplies, which also meant he could go home sooner too.

Tex’s eyes narrowed. She wanted to go up to him, to confront him, but Doc and the one way mirror kept her in her seat. She closed her eyes, elbow on the desk, rubbing her eyes with her thumb and pointer finger. At this point she was just too tired to argue. “I’m just doing my job. If you got want to get out out of here then just answer my questions. If you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide. Now, do you want to do this the easy way or would you rather me beat it out of you?”

They were both too confident and arrogant to let the other win-too proud. But all she could do was silently pray Church would behave so she could just go home.

“Well maybe if you asked me a damned question, I’d answer it for you!”  Church snapped back, more aggravated by Doc’s poking than by Tex herself.  He wriggled, trying to get away from Doc while at the same time not moving so it would all get finished quicker.  Having some guy’s hands on him like that did not exactly make him comfortable.  “I’m not hurt anywhere else.  Is that it?  Are we done now?”

Tonight officially sucked.

"Almost…" Doc reached across the table for his medical bag and start digging around in it, sending various small medicals tools cashing to the ground. he should really organize that. "Here you go!" Doc pulled out a small tin with the words Aloe Vera scribbled on the side. "We just need to apply this to your bruised area. You can use it yourself if you want," Doc turned to Tex. Doc figured Church had a point, he’d feel the same way. “lets see where’s the…” Doc started scanning the walls for a thermostat “Oh! there it is.” Walking up next to the door Doc turned up the thermostat just a bit, he didn’t want anyone to get too hot. Rubbing his hands together Doc turned back to Church “Okay do you think you could stand up for this? It would be so much easier on me.”

Tex shifted, watching carefully as Doc moved over to turn up the thermostat. She didn’t trust anyone in the interrogation room. No need to worry though. “By ‘friends’ do you mean blue team? Or…other friends?” The way she was pressing was almost like she was trying to get him arrested. But that was her job, wasn’t it? Maybe she was just trying to see how much resilience he had-trying to see if she could get him to slip up. Admittedly, Doc was getting in the way and making the interrogation aggravating but it was this or having to put up with Church’s whining about being put in a holding cell…

As Church stood he spared a moment to glare flatly at Tex.  “I mean ‘friends’ as in ‘the people most likely to hang around and annoy me’.  How many actual friends have you known me to have?”  He lifted his arms- still crossed -just enough to be out of Doc’s way and said, “Look, are you pressing charges or actually plan on going anywhere with this?  Because I got things to do and being far away from here is at the top of that list.”  Every second that passed made it feel like the skin between his shoulder blades was tightening, fully expecting someone else to come through that door at any moment…

(ooc: btw, at what point are we expecting our special guest star to arrive?)

“Church stop struggling!” All Doc wanted to do was help Church get better why couldn’t he see that? He could have internal bleed and Doc doesn’t think he has the proper medicine for that. He would have to go get some Nujol for that. “And this is not against the law this is me doing my job don’t be ridiculous!” He started pulling on Church’s arms to grab at the shirts sleeves. “You should have took your glasses off…” he muttered.

“I would just let Doc do his work. Wouldn’t want something bad to happen now would we?” She narrowed her eyes, shooting him a warning glance. Blackmail-that’s what it had come to in their “connection”. “Besides, you have nothing to be embarrassed about…” Considering I’ve seen you naked-you have nothing to hide so man up. She shook her head at the thought. “It’s just a flesh wound. But unless you let Doc look at it, he won’t leave you alone. Now…” she leaned forward across the table, pen poised above her notebook. “Do you have any connection to the…crazy hat man?”

Church was still struggling though, to be fair, he was actually trying to get his shirt off because he was inhaling it more than air.  It was just another case of too-many-hands-getting-in-the-way.  By the time it finally came off, his hair was a mess and glasses sat practically sideways on his head.  There was no point in trying to lie to Tex about it, so Church told her, “Yeah, okay- I know the guy and my connection with him is he’s a crazy asshole who keeps trying to attack me or my… friends.  Because he’s a crazy asshole.”

He tried to right his glasses, then glared at the smeared lenses where it was pressed against his skin.  But Doc had tossed his shirt out of reach and there was nothing more mortifying than sitting half naked in a police station anyway so Church fumed and sat, trying to cover himself as best as possible with crossed arms while looking as disgruntled as he could (which, considering how much practice he got at it, was pretty good).  “Could you at least turn the heat up?”  He groused and gave a sidelong look to Doc.  “If you touch me with cold hands, I swear I will slug you.”

Doc figured Church had a point, he’d feel the same way. “lets see where’s the…” Doc started scanning the walls for a thermostat “Oh! there it is.” Walking up next to the door Doc turned up the thermostat just a bit, he didn’t want anyone to get too hot. After following everyone back to the FPD Doc was surprised everyone actually remembered he was there when Tex let him in. Doc went right into the interrogation room, started tugging at Church’s clothes and when Church started to complain Doc looked down at Church like…

“No!”  He shot back, still battling against Doc’s hands and trying to ignore the twinge in his side- even if it wasn’t as bad as he initially made it out to be, taking a swing to the ribs still hurt.  “This is humiliating and I’m sure there’s some kind of law against it!  You know- molestation and stuff!”

But Church had never been a good fighter and sitting down put Doc at a distinct advantage on top of that.  Once the jacket was off, the suspenders were next and Church was flailing enough that Doc eventually gave up trying to unbutton his shirt and just yanked it off.  Or at least up to the point it caught on Church’s glasses and tangled up his arms.  “Mrph!”  He let out muffled, indignant curses, trying to get himself sorted out again.

"Church stop struggling!" All Doc wanted to do was help Church get better why couldn’t he see that? He could have internal bleed and Doc doesn’t think he has the proper medicine for that. Who's Next?: Interrogation

bluenotehotshot:

ready-for-a-fight:

Tex gave a curt nod at Carolina’s order. She turned to Church and pointed in the direction of the interrogation rooms, a few doors down from where C.T. was planning on heading. “Move,” she barked. Here, no personal feelings were allowed. In the station, Church was no longer her ex, no longer her…

Church followed along grumbling all the while (though it was obviously just for show).  He wanted out of the station as soon as possible, had always taken pains to not be anywhere near it because of… reasons.  Reasons he was never going to tell anyone, reasons he never told any of the other Blues and reasons he was never going to tell Tex but she had to go and find out on her own by accident.

So he sat obediently, arms crossed and tried not to look like he wanted to bolt out of the place.  Even if they hadn’t passed other Freelancers on the way in, Tex would’ve run him down in half a second flat anyway.  “Fine,” he said tightly.  “Whaddya wanna-” he froze at the feeling of someone pulling at his clothes.  Church looked down at the hands on his jacket, then up at the person who own those hands and said very slowly, “What the hell are you doing?”

After following everyone back to the FPD Doc was surprised everyone actually remembered he was there when Tex let him in. Doc went right into the interrogation room, started tugging at Church’s clothes and when Church started to complain Doc looked down at Church like what he was doing was the most obvious thing in the world. “I need to get to your injuries, Church!” he managed to pull his jacket most of the way off his arms. “Now hold still I need to get your shirt off…”

“No wait! You’re not supposed to eat that stuff!” Doc attempted to snatch whatever papers on his desk he could still grab so the animal couldn’t get to all of them. “I was almost done that too…”

Baaaah.

Carefully moving the rest of his papers up on top of a cabinet Doc turned back to the strange lamb. “So why are you here little guy?” He dropped down to eye level to look less intimidating, at least it worked that way for children. “Do you need help finding your owner?”

Sarge struggled to free himself from the sudden obstruction from his revenge. “Lemme go! That dirty Blue needs to learn his lesson! He’s just a paper-pusher, damnit!”…

Sarge started alternating his glares between Church, Carolina, and C.T., his hatred for each of them obvious. The dirty Blue was sporting a wounded look, kinda like a gazelle or something. And gazelles are hunted by stronger animals, like that one big cat. For now, he would have to wait. And then he noticed something. While they were handcuffing him, his hats were laying all alone on the nearby bench. Nudging with his foot the officer who slightly smelled of burnt hair, he pointed as best he could at the bench. ” ‘Ey police girl. Don’t ya need to take in my hats for evidence or som’thin?”  He wasn’t just going to let them be left out to be blown away or stolen by the common criminal.

Tex heaved a sigh, closing her eyes for a second. “You big baby,” she muttered quietly under her breath to Church as he pulled his “wounded gazelle” look. She turned to Doc and shook her head, “No I don’t need anything. Just a minor singe. Should be gone by morning.”

She looked around angrily as the shotgun went off and she had to mentally hold herself back from hitting him. “Sir, if I were you, I’d be a bit more worried about the position in rather than your precious…” She looked at the ground and frowned. “…uh, hats…?” Leave it to the others to not know what was going on…some psycho comes running out of the building screaming something about hats and attempting to hurt her ex and they act like this was just a usual nighttime case.

[OOC: now off to go look up head canon pics of Tex and procrastinate my 3D model assignment that’s due at the end of the month ^.^]

Doc hesitantly started returning his assortment of pills and medications back into his bag. “Well, if you’re both sure that you don’t need anything that’s good.” Doc turned his attention to the burning building, he wasn’t really sure what he was supposed to do in this case. “If any of you need anything later give me a call.”
